Frequently Asked Questions

Does alcohol interfere with the absorption of DHA found in krill oil?

Alcohol is considered to be a toxin and once ingested, may interfere with cognitive and liver function. When alcohol consumption is high, scientists say levels of DHA are depleted and need to be replenished. There is growing evidence that the DHA found in krill oil may protect cells against the effects of alcohol, specifically exhibiting protective effects against alcohol-related brain damage. While the omega-3’s found in krill oil have been clinically shown to support healthy inflammatory pathways, it is best taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise. We always recommend consulting with your healthcare practitioner before taking this, or any other supplement.
